Melbourne Motor Show: Bugatti Veyron
February 29, 2008 by George Skentzos
The Bugatti Veyron has become the pinnacle of motoring obsession, although no longer the fastest, and arguably never the most expensive, it remains as the most remarkable supercar ever conceived.
The quad-turbo W16 engine is only the beginning of its fascination, propelling the Veyron’s near two-tonne heft to 100km/h in just 2.5 seconds through a sophisticated all-wheel drive system – the only way to reign in all those horses.
The interior suffers no consequence from its performance credentials, offering a full array of super-luxury refinement in an infinitely customisable combination.
Whilst some of the CarAdvice team have enjoyed a 1001hp sprint across the Eurpoean country side, the Melbourne Motor Show will serve exclusively as the only occasion on which the Australian general public can view this masterpiece in the flesh.

I don’t know how you can say it’s not the fastest. Sure, other cars have higher top speeds, but that’s just a number.
All the wannabe Veyrons don’t have the same presence. They don’t have air-con, luxury leather seats and magnesium indicator stalks.
The Veyron is the best long distance cruiser and ultimate feat of automotible engineering conceived to date.
Nothing can beat it!
Ford falcon XYGTHO Phase iii can park next to this car and be part of the worlds fastest cars. Sorry holden you miss out as always and will never get there.
its a pitty seen as the XYGTHO is a dead technology you would have to spend so much money and not get close to the BHP and top speed
Veyron is not the fastest car in the world any more oh and for ford fan (how nfortunate)the HSV maloo ute is the fastest ute in the world
So what’s the World’s Fastest (unmodified) Car now?
