2011 BMW Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring wagon

Renowned BMW tuner, Alpina, has just launched the Aplina B5 BiTurbo Touring wagon package. The car features custom Alpina interior details, exterior trimmings, wheels and a tuned 4.4-litre twin-turbo BMW V8 engine.

Power is rated at 373kW while torque is set at a tree-stump-ripping 700Nm. Think of it as like a BMW 550i wagon, and some. Actually, think of it as like a new BMW M5 wagon. Alpina is known for providing superior levels of comfort over outright hard-edged performance though, so perhaps think of it as a comfy, new 2011 model BMW M5 wagon.

Aplina has added its usual subtle styling touches to the B5 Touring, such as a discrete bodykit with revised front and rear bumper bars over the standard BMW 5 Series.

It also gets traditional Alpina multispoke alloy wheels and a bespoke Alpina leather interior.

The car has been available as a sedan for some time now, but the company's website has just expanded the package option, now offering a wagon variant. For some reason, it's just better in wagon form.

What do you think, is it the ultimate sleeper?
