Volkswagen Italdesign Giugiaro concept photos leaked

An entire batch of images of some newly developed Volkswagen models by Italdeisgn Studio have recently sprouted up through various internet outlets. The first car is thought to be a two-door Volkswagen Golf concept while the other model could be the beginnings of an upcoming Volkswagen Polo.

Italdesign Studio run by Giugiaro in Italy was bought by Volkswagen Group in May 2010. These are the first two cars created under the new partnership. No specific details of the new cars have been announced, as these photos were apparently 'leaked' online.

Rumour has it these two concepts will use some form of electric-driven powertrain, although details are sketchy at this stage.

What we can say, however, is judging by the styling of the new concepts, the Italdesign-designed cars seem to fit in well with Volkswagen's next generation design language. With straight-cut lines, handsome proportions and futuristic details such as LED headlights, the two concepts are sure to attract plenty of attention.

Both concepts are expected to make an official appearance at next week's Geneva Motor Show, starting March 1. We'll be sure to provide all the details then. In the meantime check out the gallery below.
