Juliani Veela supercar by Juliani Automobili

Stunning, glamorous, exotic and loud are just some words commonly used to describe Italian supercars. As soon as someone mentions the word 'supercar' though, the first thing most people think of is an Italian brand, because it's the Italians who dominate this particular car sector. To reiterate the point, meet the latest creation to come out of Milan: the Juliani Veela.

It's low, sharp and eye-opening from every angle. It looks very imposing but it's actually quite small, and, dare I say it, cute. It's length is standard, measuring just over 4.5 metres, but at just under two metres wide and with an overall height of 1.2 metres, the Veela is only slightly larger than a Lotus Elise.

It's light like an Elise too. Juliani Automobili says the car tips the scales at just 1160kg thanks to a lightweight space-frame chassis. Unlike an Elise though, the Juliani Veela offers some serious power under its bonnet: a direct-injection 6.2-litre V8 engine producing a whopping 388kW of power. This means the Juliani Veela has a power-to-weight ratio similar to that of the Bugatti Veyron.

Juliani Automobili says the car will do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds, not bad for a rear-wheel drive. It will also do 0-160km/h in 7.6 seconds and go on to a top speed of 310km/h.

Inside, there's Recaro seating arranged in 2+2 layout, a manual six-speed gear selector and an iPad integrated into the dash to control all of the in-car entertainment. There's also 520 litres of boot space in the back, which means the Juliani Veela is sure to be a hit with Riviera gran touring enthusiasts.
