It’s getting about the time when BMW starts preparing for an all-new 1 Series. The upcoming BMW 1 series was spotted by our European photographers undergoing winter testing.

We can see that it gains squared-off “Angel Eyes” as already seen on some of the latest BMW Concept cars plus it now makes use of side indicators mounted in the side mirrors.

The German powerhouse has also added some colour to the interior with the use of red stitching on the steering wheel as well as a red stripe on the dash. The photos also reveal a flip-up sat-nav screen.

Little else is know about the specifications of the next-generation BMW 1 Series except that it will continue to be the entry-model in the company’s passenger car lineup.

Our sources say this test vehicle is equipped with a new eight-speed automatic gearbox, 2.0-litre diesel engine and it may have even been fitted with the xDrive 4×4 system since it was testing together with a current 3 series xDrive, a new 3 series prototype with xDrive and an Audi A4 quattro.

at least the interior doesn’t look the same as every other bmw interior

Will the 1-Series really be the first BMW to have indicators on the rear-view mirrors? It seems they’ve really been trying to avoid this trend.
