MINI Crossman SUV CGI

February 23, 2008 by George Skentzos

Spy shots of an unmistakably MINI adaptation have been floating around the web for some time now, indicating MINI are planning to eventually release an SUV based on its successful Cooper model.

MINI Crossman SUV CGI

This would unfortunately not mark the first occasion that MINI has derived its design for a new model almost entirely from the Cooper with the questionable MINI Clubman making its debut late last year.

The Crossman, as interpreted by our CGI, seemingly retains the proportions of the Cooper, adapting them to suit an SUV model with arguable success.

Expect official details to emerge in 2009 with potential sales to begin in 2010.

Yet another dubious marketing adventure. The old Mini-Moke makes more sense.

Going to run out of dirt track with all these SUVs on the road. The irony is that most don’t get off the tar.

Duck – thee is a disel mini. I think its a fench sourced engine 1.6litre. They did use Toyotas D4D engine but it was too slow so BMW binned it after a couple of years.
That won’t please the Toyota nuts

I honstly cannot se the point in this cross over car and the stupid x-over Lupo. They won’t be any good off road, won’t handle as well as the proper road version and use loads more fuel. Only 2WD.

for someone who wants a fun and funky off roader, with absolute comfort and something that doesn’t look like every other one out there – this will be a winner. by 2011, we will see plenty of these on the road.

i dont know many people who bought the normal mini just for its handling, or many people who have a suv cus its good offroad. if its not your style if you prefer practical things, but dont go on saying its pointless.
