2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition Geneva preview

Lexus has released details of the new Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition which is set to make an official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The special edition comes just three months after the standard version was released onto the market.

The Nurburgring Edition is a limited model that features discrete performance revisions, such as slight engine tweaks which raise power output by 7kW - taking overall power to 419kW. Gearbox cog-swaps are said to have been sped up as well, providing even faster gear changes from the six-speed sequential transmission.

Other features include new, lighter weight alloy wheels, a permanent carbon fibre rear wing - as opposed to the hydraulically adjustable one on the standard model - and a number of carbon fibre aerodynamic revisions to the front bumper bar.

Just 50 units of the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition will ever be made, making it one exclusive supercar, especially as only 500 normal LFAs are planned to be produced.

The Geneva show will be the first time the car is officially unveiled to the public. The show commences on March 1.
