2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe more images revealed

Mercedes-Benz isn't set to unveil the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe officially until the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. Nonetheless, the company has just leaked more details and images of the new car.

About a month ago, Mercedes-Benz showed us a completely chrome version of the new 2012 C-Class Coupe. It was still a bit of a concept at that stage. Now we have some images of what the actual production version will look like, including intricate details such as the glass roof, production paint and trimmings.

As previously reported, the new C-Class Coupe will replace the Mercedes-Benz CLC and CLK of previous generations. The car, as predicted, features much of the same design as the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan from the front, with the new-style headlights and straight-cut waste line. But it also gets lower raked A-pillars and a new rear end layout.

The new coupe is also set to come in AMG form, following in the footsteps of the late Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG from 2009. The AMG model is likely to include the same 6.2-litre V8 from the C63 AMG. The souped-up version will rival the likes of the BMW M3 Coupe and the Audi RS5.

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is due for an Australian launch in the third quarter of the year, with pricing and official specifications still to be announced. We'll be sure to provide further details upon the car's debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
