2008 Ford Falcon FG series gallery

The new 2008 Falcon FG series represents an exciting and relevant move away from the traditional Falcon as we know it with the right blend of power, fuel efficiency and style for the modern family. Redirecting Ford's styling cues in to a more 'family' appearance (Kinetic design) has been our major aim since the release of the BA Falcon and Territory series in 2004.

We do not want to lose the pride and tradition of Falcon, rather focus more keenly on the technology available to produce a more relevant and safe car for the needs of tomorrow. Our buyers expect everything from a car, without compromise. A car that is powerful, efficient and works with their lifestyle which whilst innovative, is still an enjoyable driving experience. A car the will reassert itself in our family life.

Dynamic Stability Control is now standard on all petrol variants, as are side airbags. Curtain airbags and reversing cameras are optional on lower series but standard on higher series. TCS, ABS, EBA, EBD are all standard, as is the HMI (Human Machine Interface) System, as seen on Mondeo.

There are three distinct branches to the Ford family line-up. Entry, Luxury Sports and Performance Sports.

The Falcon XT name will remain, though Futura will be replaced by the G6 model, which will now feature spec levels equal to that of the Fairmont. The old Fairmont will be replaced by the G6E (the E stands for European Styling Cues) and the Fairmont Ghia will be replaced by the G6E Turbo, and will feature the ZF auto as standard.

The XR series vehicles will remain with the XR6, XR6 Turbo and XR8 stayed in the same line-up as previously seen.

The ute line up has changed slightly. The XL has gone, simply to be replaced by the 'Falcon' ute. The XLS will be replaced with the R6 which aims to blend workhorse and recreation in the same models, whilst the XR line-up remains unchanged.
