Ford Australia says there are now three families of vehicles in the Falcon range – Falcon XT, G Series (including G6, G6E and G6E Turbo) and XR (incorporating XR6, XR6 Turbo and XR8).
Although similar in many ways, according to ford each vehicle is aimed at different customer wants.

It looks reasonable, but i dunno it seems to be a little “awkward” in its design.. the front isn’t cohesive with the rest of the car.. Hopefully it will look better in the flesh
Well if you were a fan of the marque I am sure there is plenty to be happy about.
Although I am a fan of cars a little smaller, faster and more nimble than these vehicles, I do think both Ford and Holden have done well with their cars and they both look fine. Ford is certainly improving on some of the styling disasters they have unleashed onto the public in recent years and I am sure fans of Ford should be very pleased.

base model falcon is better looking then base VE

Looks great but hopefully we will see different colours soon.Wheels look good Lambo/Mondeo style .
it has the BA-BF GT engine (290kw). Imagine what the FPV’s are putting out. The XR6T is now up to 270kw and again imagine what the F6 will get.
A non event, it has nothing the Commodore didnt have when VE was released and what the bet the VE will have minimum 4 airbags across the range before the FG even goes out on sale. Notice none of the Fords even top of the range do not have front park assist like the Calais V. BIG MISTAKE FORD. As we all know when the Sportwagon comes out all models have minimum 4 airbags and rear park assist which I believe will be joined by the sedans having that same system which Ford only have on the G6 and above. I would have expected at least the G6E turbo to have front pak assist.

Love it in XR format…should have dual pipes incorporated into the rear diffuser panel but. The front blends in stunningly with rest of car quite sweetly! Love it!!!!!!
the problem for ford is that holden still has ALOT left up its sleeve with the VE, if anyone honestly thinks holden put everything on the table when they launched the VE they are kidding themselfs! why would they? at the time they where still only competeing with the BF and they knew they still had atleast 18 months before any real competition came out of ford, so they held ALOT back and are waiting. Later this year or early next year when the VE will get its series 2 update its going to be “oh dear not again” time for ford fans.. sorry but its just the way it is. Ford hasn’t future proofed the falcon whereas holden has future proofed the commodore.
Plus holden has a VERY big surprise up its sleeve for the melbourne motor show.. Bob Lutz, the GM global product planner said this at the Detriot Motor Show – “Holden is working on a concept now that will be sold in Australia, and that will knock everybody’s socks off. It will emerge as one of GM-H’s proudest moments”

And when you say big suprise…we talking about the largest loss a company ever sustained during 2007, or perhaps another 4WD bonanza of part time laughing my arse off flops with huge bigger then Ben Hur hopes like the mighty Avalanche and others that were a overkill joke of Commodore! Too much of the same look from a Commodore is not the answer…maybe building next generation Astra which is a sweet looker DOWNUNDER. Keep it Australian as best possible RICHO as Holden sand pit is devoid of MADE IN AUSTRALIA!
Not happy with those rims. Being an xr5 turbo owner, the rims were a real selling point, however everyone will have them now.

N e way, they dont look good on Falcon imo… I like the FPV rims which features on the current FPVs, hard to describe them, not the dark ones… but another set that are on a few FPVs
Be specific TP, the murcielago-style on the Typhoon, or the regular GT rims.
Naughtious, how about a brand new medium sized car to replace the epica, built off the commodore platform, right here in australia featuring both 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder and diesel engines… oh dear for fords sake i hope its not true cos it will kill them! But i’m 99% sure thats exactly what it is… Remember the torana concept car of a couple of years ago? That was alot more then just a concept to show the VE’s styling cue’s, that was a car designed to convince GM’s top brass that this is what they need to build in australia, and GM agreed.

Its like on this website…..wouldnt it be boring as shit if everyone was like you or me with same opinions. Variety I say is the key! And if GM agreed to doing your car, albeit with massive losses sustained in 2007, the thought process is changing as different CEO and change of plans occurring with most as the situation is changing for all!
So they replace the EPICA….like Simcoe and others are there in Woo land to better things on designs and monetary sense to gain an edge over others. So are you saying GM would backflip off that and turn full circle to can the EPICA and do what you are saying which will still mean they will have the same $ problems to compete as all with that proposed model you are referring too? So they revisit familar ground? Seems a tad comedic like MONTY PYTHON to me?

yes it looks to be a good car but it would be a platform that would be sold globally and sorry to say that making it here in oz and exporting it isnt as viable when they can get it made cheaper elsewhere
Holden commodore VE is only a 4 star in world class safety. So what the hell did they spend there billion dollars on. There engines are gutless and trannys dont work properly. New FG is allready rated a 5 star in world class safety. Nowonder Ford is the best aussie made car in the world.

im ford fan but the new bf has a crap stance compared to the ve especially the side view, and this car will not outsell the ve, ford is struggling despite the fact the new ford came out; they sold 1255 and remeber the ef sold more vechiles than the distraus au in two years!!! on the other hand au falcon went for 5 years 98-02 and it was crap. i was expecting better by ford the car hasnt changed that much still has ba in it and mondeo and has the same rear door line as the ve just about identical.

He didnt say that HOLDEN wasnt profitable but its just the way he said GM has had big losses which is right but holden would be probaly be making most of the money in GM at the moment.

nah i still havent seen a good display of the utes yet. the sky news site that OZ suggested only really showed one driving in for a couple of seconds.
im no totally decided what i want yet but it will be at least the XR6 NA
Twin pipes, it needs twin pipes. That oval look is so boring and dated. Make the thing look tough. Same thing for the weird a** shape of the pipes on the last GT. How is it the designers can’t see this?????
