ford has proven that they continuously offer the safest australian vehicle.
im sure there past reputation on safety must count for something when people predict that the new falcon will go to the top once again.

Duck,
dont be so bitter about the Lowndes departure from holden.
it is well documented that he left as he didnt like the way the team was heading (with walkinshaws involvement)

the next holden driver i would invite to fords camp would be Todd Kelly. he too has been shafted by holden and kicked out of the team where his efforts exceded his co-drivers. (thats good old tom at work again)
perhaps its because todd like lowndes are actually nice guys and dont fit with the other bunch of tools in holdens Walkinshaw den.
also you would be in the majority that would want to put one on lowndes's chin as he is constantly voted "most liked"

TP is absolutely right. My own understanding varies only slightly from his, in that Toyota and Holden were required to supply a vehicle at their own expense for side-impact pole tests.

With this done, it was virtually assured that the cars would have earned 5 stars, but the makers refused. The cost of a $30,000 car seems a very small outlay to get a marketable 5 stars, in my view.

Watch them. If Ford achieves 5 stars, Holden and Toyota will come up with the goods. Competition does this.

Somone has stated in the past that the Aurion and Commodore did not get 5 stars because ANCAP requires a payment to perform certain tests which are required for it... if this was true then I wouldnt be attacking the Commodore and indeed the Aurion for safety (certainly ironic though given the Falcon was behind the 8 call for half a year or so in terms of safety... no curtains, no esp)

Ford have seen where other cars have failed in safety so thats why Ford make the new falcon safer than all the others. Its the first all aussie made car with a 5 star rating. Ford have been easily poundin holdens away in engines to. 60s, 70s and 80s was dominated by "BOSS" v8 falcons and then it was the 6 cylinders turn to chew up holdens. I cant think of a holden engine or is there such thing as a Holden engine that can compete with a Ford engine. These Ford typhoons do have the highest torque output from any aussie muscle car.

Not only that Duck.. but when ANCrAP did the Tests on the VE and the Aurion.. Holden had only jsut started Production of the VE and was concentrating on getting enough cars out to the major dealers.. Therefore they only provided 4 cars.. al of which passed.

Whereas Toyota initially provided 5 cars.. 4 Passed the last one failed.. so they provided another car [at therie own expense] which failed and another and another which finally passed.

Which is why I say ANCrAp don't test the safety of a particular Model like the Commodore or Aurion they tet the safety of a particular car of that model.

So why the VE or the Barina ANCrAp used in their tests may have failed the one in your drive might actually pass
