I know design engineers from Nissan, as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru etc share suppliers and we attend supplier showcases… each company respects each other. I had a couple of Nissans and a Toyota… I grew up driving a Nissan and hope I get sent to Japan so I can purchase a GTR the same price they pay over there…. again, Japanese car fans in general have mutual respect for each other, obviously your the exception… tsk tsk.

I think people also work for the fact they are good at it even though they don’t enjoy it they know they’ll get it right when something needs to be done, comes to mind the saying ‘work for a living’

Also I think its the whole notion of reliability, refinement thats hits the mark with Toyota purchases, that couple it with all the brand awareness and association (F1, FIA rally) it comes as a nice package.

Oh yes…like the car and great work AGAIN Toyota!

Now back to basketball hipster CEO of Ford Australia = better come up with a bolder svelte look to Ford Falcon and 6speed boxes and at best a better 5speed auto to enable better fuel economy, more airbags, LPG motor as standard, 5star safety, traction control or at least some of these as standard. The days of option up safety should be abandoned as insane to neglect! Do I support the Falcon come next info up here by ALBORZ AND THE GANG….hope so as only they offer LPG only motors (not dual fuel). I will be REAL HEAPS annoyed if the Falcon is only a tad above current model and more so if bugger all differentiation between all models (as currently the case as cod ordinary)!

well when toyotas vehicles are more often than not dearer to purchase wouldnt it make sense to the A to B people to look at the cheaper option? if you go for the toyota you will actually have to fork out a greater sum and thats before you start looking at luxury/performance options

I guess there are car enthusiasts and car enthusiasts! Me as 95% of real car enthusiasts,don’t care what carbon foot print I leave or really what the cost of petrol is at present,that is the penalty you pay for when your a petrol head performance driver.

People who are “into” cars are in the same boat as people “into” guitars, computers etc. Basically…. A Hobby. For the mundane, its a A to B tool. So buying a car that has less outgoing/expenses e.g. reliable, fuel efficient, is their number one driver to purchasing a car. Obviously then the most reliable and fuel effecient car would not be always the purchased car, thats when personal and capacity preferences comes in… People then look at comforts, carry capacities and style etc, thats when differentiation kicks in and competition starts to heat up.

What he is saying is yes SOME performance/luxury vehicles will hold or even increase their value, however these cars are so expensive that the average person would never be able to afford them anyway. Now if only SOME vehicles will hold or increase in value then obviously conversely the majority of vehicles will depreciate. It’s quite simple really.
