You’ll just have to wait F-O…
This is cool – I love how the hype is built up, it’s almost better than the actual release. Good stuff! :)
The Ford badge looks to be a significant improvement, with more streamlining and less noise vibration and harshness. ;)
Thanks Ford for the heads up!
Dan
i hate it when ford does this…argh!!!!
c’mon ford…wet our appetites now!!!
Its like watching a burlesque show only with cars. I hope Ford have developed optional nipple tassles for the new car. ;)
dick teasers :P
they could have remove the chain and opened the door it would have been a much better picture. all you can see is the badge and a bit of the front end.
At least we know the badge hasn’t moved!
hmmmm remember when the BA came out and they had a live video feed into a room before the unveiling, i remember taking screen shots lol.
i mean dont see what all the fuss is about we already know the basic shape with the whole FPV model fiasco, and it looks hot.
Been waiting a long time for the unveiling. Plz Ford at least play some sexy music if your going to tease us. lol
It’s a bit like a peep show a funeral, if you ask me.
The Falcon is doomed, no matter what the 15yo numnut Ford fans say.
The Commodore is also doomed, but will take much longer to breathe its last.
Not long to go!!!
 Here I am finnaly about to see the Falcon uncoverd after alomst half a year looking at bra’d up spyshots.
Reckless,
You do have a point, the glory big-numbers day are over.
None the less i think Ford in Oz can survive with 30,000 unit per year.If NZ and S/Africa take more it will all help.
Holden are in a strong position as they have export program in place.
As for BigT, the Aurion is just a rehased Camry so they are in the best spot, and sales are going up and up…
Cheers

Better be a beauty as suspect it wont be that different from current model aside from door handles, some other incidentals and headlights. The rest I feel is new…but tweaked a tad over existing.
hers an idea ford keep it designed in oz built in thailand with ability for LHD
Hi Naughtyius Maximus, I think you right.
Also, the Orion Falcon should receive a 5-Star crash test rating because if a tiny Toyota Yaris can get a result like that, so can a large sedan and I’ve seen on, caradvice.com.au/8661/2008-ford-falcon-orion-details/ That’s likely to be what’s happening.
The picture here looks fake.
Is it coming out with territoy front suspenion?Eary reports from motor or wheels (dont remember which one?) said it might
FO, I’m sure Ford would love to shift 30,000 Falcons a year, but that’s lofty Commodore territory at the moment.
1252 is all the Falcon could muster in January, despite massive price cuts and loading the options.
That’s just what Mitsubishi tried with the 380 when they realised they were heading for the rocks.
As Naughtyius Maximus correctly says, there’s not much different about the new model. That means there’s nothing to stop the rot. If you need a tow sedan, though, it would be a no-brainer – problem for Ford is, not many people want a tow sedan, they prefer a 4WD for towing as they should.

Spot on Reckless1. In August 2006 I did a 6 week holiday trip to SA, NT and Western Qld and by far the majority of grey nomads (and there a lot of them) were towing caravans using 4WD’s. In fact Commodores and Falcons were almost non existent.
The bonnet looks horribly plain.
not havin a go or anything at you frugalone, but seriously whats the go with the whole ‘primo’ ?
All the excitement and anticipation, then finally the release and then comes the dissapointment of what will be nothing more than a tarted up taxi just like the billion dollar baby
Golfschwein, what do you mean by the bonnet looking horribly plain? It’s a blury pic where you can see the middle of the bonnet.
ford can survive with lower sales than the commy because they make up production numbers with the territory and soon to add Focus.
ford doesnt rely on the falcon as much to bring home the bacon as holden relies on the commy
yeah what a teaser!!!!!!
Alborz,
lets hope you can get your hands on a couple from this range, unlike your ability to get a hold of…….
XR5 focus,
diesel Focus,
entire Mondeo range (you know the one that took a car of the year gong and nearly took the world car award),and
F6X
what doesnt ford give out there vehicles or something???
Both fifth gear and top gear love the VXR8 because it is cheap, fast and great value for money. Now the faster of the falcon models XR6T and Typhoon are according to the press are the better handlers of the models here.
So why is it that we get mondeo, focus etc but we cannot send falcon to europe. Is Ford world wide so stupid and short sighted not to see that unless it starts to think outside of the box that it is in, it will not be a force as a car maker in the future.
If we follow the line of the US the next model falcon will be a XY GT with plastic bumpers.
At least we design good looking cars in Australia that dont need to remind us of yesterdays parts bin and the past glory days, instead of trying creating them in the future!
Oh, Oz, I was just taking the piss out of a very limited teaser shot. Being silly, I was! I do a lot of piss-taking on here. Yeah, I take a lot of piss, maaaaaaan.

why dont we just wait until the car is released. Speculative dribble without knowing the facts means nothing. no one knows what it looks like or what it has in it or how it goes.. lets just wait and see hey.. then you can compare it to the chevvydore..
maybe alborz you should road test my new 08 shelby gt500 when it arrives in a couple of months time??? that will be a first in oz for you maybe??
Cobra,
Alborz is obviously busy.
if he cant even test a humble Focus i doubt there is time for the “Stang”.
alright then……..i suppose i better help him out
so what date can i drive it on his behalf?
If you look at the picture (chain) carefully, you can see it has some kind of psychedelic blur if you know what I mean – Would this some kind of hint FoA will advertise this like the Mk1 Escort in the late 1960s?
Hey Cobra045! I wonder if You can do a reader review because it’s a Mustang. C/A allowed it for Bavarian Missile, so I can’t see why not you! :D LOL!
….& LOL golfschwein! :D We all make silly comments sometimes.
Hey Andrew I have that privilege……..what you look like in a Bikini…..not as hot as me Im thinking! My name is on the Stang…….It will be winter when he takes delivery of it and hes not turning the heater on for me!
Oz…….but Im special….hahaha
Na……Im sure Karl would love to get his hands on the Stang ……Cobra045 has a UFIUFI policy on his cars hey babe!
MR cobra045… i am one very jealious 20 yr old right now… that is my dream car…. what colour you geting?? white with blue Strips to match your cobra??? that would be sweet….
with that thing you could go bully all HSV has to offer… not just beat them…. distory them!!! lol
hey guys… on another topic… has any one heard about the GTSR… they now think they will be putting the LS9 in… 6.2litre supercharged V8…. 400-465Kw….
if that thing comes out… ford better respond quickly!!! we cant wait till 2010-2011 for the GT-HO Pharse 5 to respond to this… Maybe ford should start a New legend in a F6-HO…. 4-litre Inline 6 Turbo or twin Turbo putting out 400Kw and a mountian load of torque down low??
i think that would be pretty good and a great send off to the Inline 6… make the thing all about speed… make the car light and give it more shove then a space shuttle… they think the new Typhoon will be 300kw and will do sub 5s… what would a 400kw Typhoon with less wieght do low 4s i would think as the Torque will me massive and early…. just an idea?? what do you guys think???

That would be too logical! Just ask the many experts on this blog, they know everything.
They have been former CEO’s and were around back in the early 20th century when Ford, GM and Crysler were young companies and know exactly the cost and product structure of each company…
I get tired of having to spell out what exactly will be new and carry over in the new orion.
It’s a pity the same questions aren’t being asked about carry over items in camry, 380 and ANY japenese vehicle.
That may expose the truth!
According to a little birdy (over at Ford Forums or Ford Australia forums can,t rember which one) the base Orion will get 210KW
Given that members on FordForums.com.au have been reporting rust in their BA’s and Territory’s and given my Terri has rust as well, I hope the chain on the door isn’t a metaphor for what to expect with the new Falcon.
I don’t know any vehicles that don’t suffer from rust, hecne they all come with rust warranties.
Oh well due to the fact many think orion is a carry over vehicle from BF11 it will suffer rust issues!
Adam,
You are joking aren’t you?
There are no carry over panels, sills up!
Some think that the roof is a carry over – wrong. EG The top of the A-pillar is some 100mm farther from the driver, whilst the C-pillar is farther back to give a wider rear door entrance. Both are major structural differences.
Bret…
Of course i’m joking, just taking the p*ss out of the twits who keep down playing orion as not all new and not much different from BF11.
If that was the case, all new models from every manufacturer would be carry overs…
Ford unfortunately has the track record of being able to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, they seem to have an unnatural ability for it, hope they get it very right this time or they could be the next company to close the doors.
6 priorities for the Orion Falcon I can think of is…
1.Fuel economy
2.Fresh look(Exterior & Interior)
3.Extra power
4.5-Star safety rating
5.Smooth ride
6.Reliability
5 For the Base model alone…
1.Fuel economy
2.Fresh look(Exterior & Interior)
3.5-Star safety rating
4.Affordability(starting RRP)
5.Reliability
Commodore sales are falling cause everybody is waiting for the new falcon. Mitsubishi is dead so Ford has that edge over others to sell a lot of cars now. Holden is in panic mode now cause they allready know that the Falcon will easily be better than VE. Bring it on Ford keep on the destruction of other car mnufactures. You where the first in this country and will leave last. Commodore will soon be 100% Pontiac and the Falcon will remamin Falcon.
OZ,
mate the falcon is as economical as large cars get with out any upgrade.
why do they have to make it more economical? yes it would be nice i suppose but why dont they just make some commaercials that say “the big 6 game has changed” and perhaps people will believe it just like they did when toyota said it.
this will be BA falcon all over again in the way it will lead the market class for the many years after its release.
what they have to do this time is not let the others catch up. dont drag this one out for 6 yrs so that the others catch up before refreshing again
in certain months the BA falcon actually outsold the commy which wasnt bad coming off the back of the sales disaster AU falcon and that there were big waiting lists for some of the performance falcons.
so this time ford, once you start to claw back sales and it flattens out, have another hit with an update model rather than let the sales drop and think about it
Not bad for Ford with a 6 yr old car. New car for 2010 so thats only 2 yrs away and it will be more American then aussie made by then. New VE didnt do much, by 2010 VE Commydore will be more Pontiac. Slowly all aussie cars coming to an end. Cant wait to buy a 2015 falcon from USA.
Andrew.M,
Mate, I like the way you spell “commercials” :P You know when it shows the new fuel figures and how they’ve improved over the BFII, it would attract the public and media’s attention. BTW, you kind if answerd the question to me your self with the commercials.
I think a good ad for the base model Falcon would be a chase with a Commodore, Aurion & Falcon. It would show the Commy and Aurion after the Falcon and they have troble catching up with the Falcon and the Falcon pulls away. At the end the aurion and commy loose site of the falcon so they give up and stop at a petrol station. and the Falcon keeps going. – Please Ford, do an ad like that!
