2008 Dodge Challenger production pics

You might recall some time back we bought you news of the 2008 Dodge Challenger and some pre-production (or concept) pics. Well, build has been finalised and production is in full swing and so just because it’s so good looking, here it is again in all its glory.
Power output from the 6.10litre HEMI V8 is 325kW (in SRT8 spec – as shown) which if introduced in Australia along side Camaro next year could bring back the heady days of muscle car wars on our streets – look out HSV & FPV!
As you can see from the pics the reformed tail light cluster, revised bumpers and more mellow Hemi Orange paint of the production vehicle are just the ticket and even if it’s not your thing, you have to admit, it’s a tough looking car.

I’d love to see this AND Camaro here, they’re tough! Sure they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but let’s face it tea drinkers and cardigan wearers aren’t likely to want one.

If they bring this down here, with the Camaro… i think ford should look at a 2 door car or Bring the mustang down under to compete…. lets hope…

Camaro, ‘Stang, Challenger (or Charger perhaps) – awesome! It’d give the politicians something to do too! LOL :) Make some more silly laws to keep on top of it all.

stang looks and goes better.. I have a GT500 shelby on order from the states (same colours as my 2 Cobras of course!!).. it will blow this SRT away..

SO SRT (325Kw) Vs GT500 (373Kw) Vs camaro (???) any one know the power of the camaro….. then also to add to the fun GTS 307Kw… GT 320Kw… Typhoon 300Kw….all i can say is good times ahead,,, lol

Andrew M: thats nothing a straight through exhaust can’t fix. But your right, the new fuel injection motors arent as lound, lumpy and just dont sound as good as the old carby motors
yep i suppose the sound can be fixed,
but new laws coming in ensure cras dont exceed a specific db rating.
the old “clapping” sound is unique and will never be replicated

Time to put Kowalski back in the Challenger drivers seat! Does anyone get this reference in 2008??? Think of an old drive-in favourite and you’ll be getting warm.
Simply the best looking car made since 1974 (the last original Challenger). They have large orders on this car so we won’t see a RHD version anytime soon, but if they did, I’d trade my current Chrysler and Ford for this one.
