2011 Noble M600 revealed in production form

British supercar manufacturer Noble has released official images of the production version of its latest beast: the 2011 Noble M600.

Noble fans will recall that the M600 was already ‘officially unveiled’ back in August 2009, although the teal creation was a pre-production vehicle, with considerable development over the past 18 months.

The Noble M600 is powered by a 4.4-litre Yamaha V8 originally fitted to the Volvo XC90. Noble has taken it to another level, however, adding a pair of turbochargers taking maximum power to 485kW and peak torque to just shy of 820Nm.

If all that power sounds like just a little too much, drivers can select from two lower tune power settings: 336kW and 410kW.

Noble has teamed the engine with a six-speed manual transmission in an attempt to make the M600 as ‘driver-controlled’ as possible.

Following the same ethos, the vehicle is not offered with ESP or anti-lock brakes. The only real driver assist aid is traction control, and that can be completely switched off too.

The rear-wheel drive, mid-engined supercar has an estimated top speed of 362km/h. Noble says 0-100km/h takes just 3.0 seconds, and 0-120mph (0-193km/h) comes up in an equally impressive 8.9 seconds.

The chassis is a stainless steel tub with tubular space frame and the body is carbon fibre. The wheels are a lightweight aluminium alloy and the tyres are Michelin Pilot Sports. All this combines for a total vehicle weight of just 1250kg.

Unfortunately, the Noble M600 is expected to remain a Europe-only delicacy. UK deliveries will begin in April.
