2011 Peugeot 508 SW Allroad spy shots

Our spy photographers have managed to capture what appears to be an all-new, high-riding Peugeot 508 wagon, testing in extreme winter conditions in Sweden. The new model is speculated to be called the Peugeot 508 SW Allroad or the Peugeot 508 SW Outdoor.

The car will feature Peugeot's new Hybrid4 all-wheel drive system. This system combines a 122kW 2.0-litre turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with a 28kW electric motor, to give a total output of 150kW.

The new car will go up against the likes of the Subaru Outback, Volvo XC60 and the Skoda Scout, as well as plenty of other mainstream light off-road vehicles.

Strutting around in absolutely no camouflage, we can see it looks almost identical to the existing new Peugeot 508 wagon only it features a slightly raised body and a revised tyre and wheel package.

No other details of the car have been released yet, although reports say it will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

We'll be sure to report full details and provide any information on the possibility of an Australia launch upon its unveiling later this year.
