2011 Pagani Huayra revealed

Pagani has finally revealed images of the new Pagani Huayra supercar. The car will replace the awesome Pagani Zonda and its various editions.

This is the first time the vehicle has been seen in full detail, in a proper photoshot; no camouflaging in sight. The Huayra looks mighty sleek, featuring very little in the way of wings and spoilers, even the back of the car is smoothed off for ultimate aerodynamics. This, Pagani says, helps the car achieve a top speed of 370km/h.

Even though the car is rather aerodynamic and stunning to behold, the way the air flows over the Huayra provides the car with downforce using integrated high and low pressure systems created by the body's surfaces. These contour features help the car to achieve up to 1.5 G in lateral force when cornering.

Other technical highlights include the use of lightweight materials and components. The exhaust system, for example, weighs less than 10kg thanks to its titanium construction, the entire gearbox weighs 96kg, forged suspension components that have provided a 30 percent weight reduction over the Zonda's suspension, as well as an all-new carbon-titanium monocoque chassis all contribute to the car's overall weight of just 1350kg.

As speculated, the engine is indeed a bespoke AMG unit comprising a 6.0-litre, twin-turbo V12 with a specified output of 522kW of power and 1000Nm of torque. With help from the new AMT robotic seven-speed sequential gearbox, this engine is powerful enough to propel the car from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds - truly astonishing for a rear-wheel drive car.

Official pricing and release date is yet to be revealed. In the meantime feel free to bask in the magnificence of the new Pagani Huayra by checking out the new images below.
