2012 Kia Cee’d spy shots

Kia has recently been out testing its own version of the 2012 Hyundai i30 we saw testing a couple of weeks ago. This model will be introduced as the next-generation 2013 Kia Cee'd.

Many of the fundamentals of the new Kia Cee'd will be shared with those found on the next-generation Hyundai i30, including a majority of the chassis details and major suspension geometry.

The new Cee'd will also get a range of engines similar to those of its Hyundai counterpart, including a number of small petrol engines - including a three-cylinder variant - a turbo diesel engine and a rumoured diesel hybrid engine.

This test mule was spotted in Germany just outside a Kia development centre wearing loads of camouflage. We can see the new model will feature a more clean-cut design that the current model, and feature a rounded rear end shape and high-waisted rear doors.

It will also get a flatter windscreen with lower rake A-pillars, new wheels and smart new side mirrors incorporating what appear to be indicator lights.

The 2013 Kia Cee'd is expected to make a motor show debut some time later in 2012 and then hit international markets the following year.
