2011 BMW X1 M Sport Package revealed before Geneva

Details of the 2011 BMW X1 M Sport Package have trickled out ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The M Sport Package will feature the usual tweaks, including enhancements to the suspension and styling, but will stop short of any engine revisions.

To be available across all engine variants, M Sport-equipped X1s will get a unique sports suspension calibration and 17-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels (18-inch alloys will also be available as an option).

Outside, the aerodynamics package sets the M Sport apart from the rest of the X1 range, as does the finish of the roof rails and window surrounds, and of course some subtle ‘M’ logos.

Enhancements within the cabin include cloth/alcantara upholstery, anthracite roof lining, dark-brushed aluminium interior and leather handbrake lever, as well as an ‘M’ designated manual gearstick, leather-wrapped steering wheel and footrest.

BMW Australia's Piers Scott revealed to CarAdvice that production of the BMW X1 M Sport Package would commence in March. He said it would be available to order across the entire X1 range and expected vehicles to arrive in local showrooms around early June.

Pricing details will be revealed shortly. Stay tuned.
