apm285, For the gtr, it’s not just acceleration but its handeling, look up its top gear review on you tube.
Bavarian Missile, the f6, even if u modified it to have a 1/4 mile time of under ten seconds would never keep up with the gtr around the bends.

lol how can you compare an F6 to a GTR.

Lets see the specs:

F6 0-100kmh = 5.4sec, 1/4 mile 13.5
GTR 0-100kmh = 3.5sec, 1/4 mile 11.6

damn bloody right, cause p platers are the only people interested in buying these things, and of course they dont have the money for them either. From a marketing point of view, they have missed and gone thru the neighbors window with this car. The only people who can afford this are executive grouped incomers or real estate agents. neither of which would buy one, cause a real estate agent would want to show off to home buyers and executive works are far too boring and old to want a race spec car that looks as flashy as austin powers’s underware. these things are typically boy racer hardware and that market doesnt have the money to ever afford to buy one.

Apologies, I actually used 9,000,000yen as a buy price for Nissan Australia.

Correction follows, using 8mil yen.
Anything more than AUS$112,000 in Australian showrooms for a brand new R35 GT-R is nothing more than a greedy money grab by Nissan Australia.

I dare Holden and Ford to send their best and fastest to the Ring to really see how they fare. GT-R challenged the 911 Turbo- and WON.
Anyway, 160K is way too much for GT-R(it’s after all just a Nissan). Give me M3 or RS-4 and day. Nissan will see that for themselves.
Using several import calculators the realistic price or the R35 GT-R should be 125K, thanks to massive taxes we, australian consumers have to pay. This calculation also used 80K as the price Nissan Australia would be paying to their parent company to buy the car. I seriously doubt they would pay anywhere near 80K for a car, but lets be conservative.
Anything more than 125K for a brand new R35 GT-R in Australian showrooms will be paramount to a theft.

lol – I agreee – how can you compare F6 to the GT-R… I am still laughing as I write this.

Personally, the GT-R looks great and with its history will perform as expected.. Shame it will come in so high ($ 160K).. But I guess it will make this beast exclusive! I wouldnt want to see all the P platers in NSW driving this thing (if it was affordable) – :)

I look forward to seeing more of this car.

GTR is an enthusiasts road and track car
F6 is a family hot rod
end of story
Id be surprised if an F6 pulled a sub 8 min Nurburgring track time even in Nizpro form (ie it takes alot more then a hard tuned inline 6 to make a fast car)

F6 with some work by Nizpro would get you there and probably still cheaper than the expected $160,000 for the GTR……but I have to agree with JBOT……….2 different cars factory wise and aimed at different customers too.

hopefully they will have a “seat via appointment” arrangement so the people who haved shelled out their hard earned as a deposit on a car that won’t arrive until 2009

I sat in one while in japan last month, and was surprised at how comfortable it was (i’m 6′3″ and 105kgs) i think alot of people will be surprised at the room for driver and passenger, however the rear seats are a token offering to say the least!

And you can fit a golfbag in the boot, as there was a nice mizuno bag in the one at the Nissan Gallery in Ginza
