2016 Citroen Dispatch spy photos

The next-generation Citroen Dispatch van has been spotted undergoing testing in Europe by our spy photographers.

Although it's badged as the Dispatch in the UK and other English-speaking nations, the van is known as the Jumpy throughout much of Europe and the world. The large front-wheel drive van was sold in Australia between 2008 and 2012.

Rumour has it that the new Jumpy/Dispatch will go into production either by the end of 2015 or at the beginning of 2016. The new vehicle will be offered in both load carrying and people mover versions.

With different badges and some rejigged elements at the front end, the Jumpy/Dispatch is also sold in various markets as the Peugeot Expert and Toyota ProAce.

The Peugeot Expert was effectively discontinued in Australia around March of this year when Peugeot Australia ran out of local supplies.

At the time, Tyson Bowen, public relations manager for both Peugeot and Citroen in Australia, told Car Advice: "We’ve sold our existing stock. That part of the business is undergoing a restructure."

He went on to indicate that "we’re looking at the entire business of Peugeot, and separately the entire business for Citroen". So, it's not clear if either version of the next-generation van will be sold locally.

The current vehicle is also branded as the Fiat Scudo, although the Italian company will switch allegiances with the next-generation van. The new Scudo will be built by Renault, and will essentially be a rebadged variant of the Renault Trafic.
